DJ Mixing Software

Overview

Overview :

The DJ Mixer Professional software offers you a complete DJ experience. You can use DJ Mixer Professional as a standalone software product or with a hardware controller and additional software effects.

A hardware controller gives you that unique DJ feeling and control over your mix, while DJ Mixer Professional works in the background to provide you with all the tools and features needed. Every software function can be controled with the controller or the keyboard. You have the possibility to assign all software functions to specific buttons / knobs / faders on a hardware controller/MIDI device, or to the keyboard using the Learn function (which can be used live, without restarting the software or pausing the playback). More on this, in the configuration chapter.

While this DJ solution is intended to be used in live conditions, you also have additional functions, like the Auto-DJ feature. When in Auto-DJ mode, the software works on it's own, mixing songs without any human intervention whatsoever. Both songs rhythms and volume are automatically synchronized and the beats are perfectly overlapped to create quality beat-matching.

Almost all these functions are automated which makes it very easy to use. However, you have full time control over everything, and you are free to develop your own sound using effects, eqs, loops and filters. There's nothing this software can't do, the only thing limiting you being your own imagination.

The program has also preview functions: when a song is playing in master (speakers) you can listen in headphones to the next song or any other one, and you can change different parameters before sending it to audition. You can also listen in headphones the master song and the next one to come in perfect synchronization, to see how the two songs overlap.

A three channels equalizer allows modifying the sound in each deck. The equalizers have kill functions to eliminate the bass, middle and high frequencies. Keeping only the rhythm is just a mouse click away. There is a powerful real time effect block that can apply the desired effect to the sound. The playback speed can be changed using the pitch slider in each deck, the pitch reset and bend functions. All program modules run in real time and their settings are automatically saved and loaded.

The Playlist has advanced features like instant column sorting, column resizing, column show/hide, drag&drop within the list, between the existing lists and even from other applications, tag editor, physical delete and an instant search. The Lists Browser manages multiple playlists that you create and also the computer discs which are displayed in a tree-like structure.

The waveform graphic display gives you real time audio signal monitoring, information about the audio signal and the beat rhythm. It can be configured to display more or less of the song, using the zoom in and zoom out buttons. Mouse drag&drop within the sound graphic display can make real wonders. You are free to make real scratch effects by dragging the sound fully interactive. Depending on the speed of the drag and drop you can create a disk spin effect, scratch, reverse play, mute, fine-tune cue-points, and even a reverse spin and play effect. Of course you'll probably use all these directly from a controller's jog-wheel.
