Synchronizing decks

Synchronizing decks:

To synchronize the monitoring deck (slave) to the one playing in the speakers (master) press the Sync button next to the deck. The deck starts playing, the pitch is modified to match the BPM and the beats overlapp to create a perfect mix between the two songs.

While the songs are perfectly overlapped the offset meters from the waveform displays are empty. As the beats tend to loose synchronization the offset meters will turn red . To manually synchronize the titles you can use the 2 bend buttons on the slave deck to re-align the beats slowly. If you want to synchronize the slave deck automatically and instantly, press the Sync button on the controller that lights red intermittently (available for Behringer hardware controllers). That's a way for the button to say "this deck is not synchronized with the other, so please press me !".

TIPS: Never make changes to the active deck (which is in MASTER), as any change it will be noticed by the audience. ALWAYS modify the secondary deck (the one that is heard in the headphones – monitor).

Thus, do not press Sync button for the deck playing in the speakers since it may produce a sound skip or even a fast speed change, disappointing the audience.

Try to find tracks with similar BPMs for a fine mix. Although the program perfectly overlaps the beats, the high pitch may disturb the audience. In such cases even the slow pitch reset or the Key Lock (Master Tempo) may seem annoying.
