The Jog-Wheel, Reverse playback, Brake and Beat Offset Meter

The Jog-Wheel:

The jog-wheel is probably the most used element of the hardware controller. You can bend the pitch with it (just like with the 2 bend buttons), fine-tune the cue- points and make vinyl-like effects like scratching.

Depending on some conditions, the jog-wheel can make only certain operations. When the deck is paused and the play cursor is near the current cue-point, you can fine-tune the cue-point position by spinning the jog-wheel. If the play cursor is not near the cue- point position, you can make scratch effects, without the fear that you'll change the cue-point position.

If the deck is playing, by default the jog-wheel can do pitch bend. If you spin the wheel to the left you will slow down the deck (bend down), and if spin it to the right you will speed up the deck (bend up).

If the deck is playing and the scratch mode is activated, spinning the jog-wheel will have the same result as spinning a vinyl disc on a regular turntable. The scratch mode is set on/off from the Scratch button. When activated, the Scratch button on the controller will light up.

Reverse playback :

To play the sound backwards, activate the reverse play by pressing the Reverse button. Due to the powerful sound engine, reverse playing works even in loop mode and loop song mode and it is perfectly compatible with all the effects.

Brake:

To create a turntable brake effect press the Brake button beneath the display. When in brake mode the play and scratch modes are deactivated. You must press the Brake button again to exit this mode and continue song playback.

Beat Offset Meter :

The red indicator in the corner of the waveform display is the Beat Offset Meter displaying offset relative to synchronization reference (other deck). It shows form –1/2 to +1/2 beat. The offset meters in the other deck is always the mirror image () of the one you are looking at (if one deck is behind then the other is ahead and vice versa). If the beats of the two songs playing perfectly overlap these indicators are empty ( ). As soon as the beats do not perfectly overlap this indicators turn red indicating that manual or automatic synchronization is required. These meters only work when both decks are playing. Besides the offset meter, one of the two SYNC buttons on the controller (the one from the non-active deck) turns red allowing for manual synchronization from the user.
